Computerised Medical Simulation

Overview

It is designed with reference to the problem-based learning approach and flipped classroom approach.

Students work in small group to learn through the online module, discuss the related online case scenario and find out the details of the case and patient management on their own.

With the classroom time being freed up, students have more time to have hands-on skills with computerized high fidelity manikin in simulated clinical settings

to have integrated simulation practice followed by the instructor guided facilitated debriefing to learn from the peers, instructors and self-reflection.

This forms a bridge between university learning and clinical placement which let students familiarized to work in Unexpected situation and unfamiliar environment and learn from mistakes.

apply the knowledge

To gain more hands-on experience on handling patients at the bedside and learn to respond to the unexpected situations

debriefing

Students can receive instant feedback from teachers and peers, so that they can know what to improve

Group practice

Students would be assigned the role of therapists and observers in the medical simulation and learn together

post quiz

To collect feedback from students after simulation and understand their level of confidence and competency
